rationale
So I've always grumbled to myself a bit when I open a new can/jar/package of anything and the stuff inside is several inches below the top. It's always made me feel rather jipped. But today I discovered firsthand exactly why the packaging companies do this. And it actually made quite a bit of sense as my brand new can of cocoa exploded all over my kitchen.
