meat is murder....tasty tasty murder

T-rav and I were at dinner last night at a most-delicious meaty restaurant (Texas Roadhouse) wherein I consumed at least 6 rolls smothered in cinnamon-butter, a salad, sweet potato, several ribs, and a big fat juicy hunk of steak (If I have any vegan/vegetarian readers out there, I'm sorry if I'm making you uncomfortable...I can't help it). Most of our friends ordered their steak medium. One asked for well-done, and T-rav and I opted for medium-rare. It was perf. The outside was salty and flame kissed; the inside was progressively pinker until it reached an uncooked state of nirvana. Oh the succulent meaty flavors! Oh the tender texture! Oh the juicy center, mooing at me from between layers of pink. I savored/snarfed every meaty bite. I haven't had a good steak like that in months. Years! Or maybe since the last time I went to Texas Roadhouse.

If you ask me, steak should be eaten at most medium, at best medium rare. Why bother eating a steak at all if you're just going to suck all the life out of it. You might as well be chewing on a piece of old leather.

So how do you like your steak?

Oh Kelly, I think we are kindred spirits!! I agree with you 110%. The description of your steak seriously made my mouth water. I'm actually kind of cursing you right now because now I want a steak :) Medium-rare all the way!!

I'm paranoid, so I like mine well done.

I can't even remember the last time I had a steak though... :(

Love Texas Roadhouse--their rolls are divine. It sounds like we order the same thing. Marc and I share the steak (medium) and ribs combo with a ceasar salad and a sweet potato. It's my 5 year old's favorite restaraunt :)

I usually go for a medium. However, when I eat steak I get a really bad stomache/nausea so I don't eat it often.

e-that's very interesting (and unfortunate). does all red meat do that to you or just steak?

I am scared of food bourne illness. I always get mine medium well at the very least.
